Our Environment
Manukora is a small part of a complex ecosystem. Our responsibility is to sustain the land and nurture the bees. To harvest honey as vital, powerful, and giving as the wild.
Protecting & Nurturing the Land
From forests to rivers to the bees themselves, every part of nature is connected.
We protect and restore the land so bees can thrive. Thriving bees mean stronger pollination, healthier plants, and greater biodiversity. A cycle that manifests purer, higher-quality honey.
What we’re doing:
- Native reforestation along waterways.
- Partnering with remote beekeepers who cherish the land.
- Actively managing our operational footprint.
Sprays, Chemicals & GMOs
We keep our honey as close to its natural state as possible by avoiding unnecessary additives and harmful practices. Our standards are built around purity, transparency, and respect for the land.
What we’re doing:
- All our honey is non-GMO and glyphosate-free.
- Natural disease management: We utilize natural treatments instead of antibiotics when a hive requires support.
- Harvest in remote locations, away from agricultural activities that may contaminate the foraging area with pesticides and herbicides.
Our North Star:
Net Positive by 2030
As a business, we naturally carry a footprint. The plan was never to be perfect, but to take actionable steps that support ambitious goals. This is why we are committed to becoming a net positive company by 2030.
What this means:
- Reducing more emissions than we generate
- Restoring ecosystems, not just preserving them
- Giving back to people, nature, and community.
Packaging
Our packaging receives the same care as our product.
Every material decision is designed to minimize our impact and protect the raw purity of our honey. That’s why we’re transitioning to glass jars.
We’re also using:
- Soy-based inks and water-based adhesives in our cardboard
- FSC-certified paper and cardboard
- Certified compostable pallet wrap and courier bags
