What is MGO? What do the numbers mean?
Methylglyoxal (MGO) is the unique naturally occurring antibacterial properties in Mānuka honey. A higher MGO value indicates higher antibacterial activity, it also indicates higher levels of other active, beneficial compounds in the Mānuka honey.In simple terms, the higher the MGO, the more potent the honey is.
How is it different to local honey?

Produced exclusively in the remote Manuka tea tree forests of New Zealand, it boasts exceptional levels of bioactive properties, such as MGO, Leptosperin, and oligosaccharides that are not found in other honey types.
How do I use it?
There are many different ways to enjoy our creamy caramel Mānuka honey. Our favorite is to have it straight from the spoon or stick and let it slowly drizzle down your throat. It can also be added to food or beverage (e.g. coffee, tea, smoothies, yogurt, pancakes, dressings etc.).
How much can I take?
1-3 heaped teaspoons daily. It is perfectly fine to eat more as you see fit, especially when using Mānuka as an alternative to refined sugar in your diet!
