Because we want what you want; a happy and healthier world. We’re part of nature and it’s only by working with nature that we can achieve this. We realised back in 1998 how special Mānuka Honey is and, since then, we have perfected the art of producing the purest Mānuka Honey in the world. But our mission is much greater than that. We want to bring health through nature's finest produce all while working to leave a better world behind us.
Authentic New Zealand Mānuka Honey is made by bees that collect nectar from the Mānuka tree (Leptospermum scoparium), a tree endemic to New Zealand. Unlike other honeys, New Zealand Mānuka Honey has high levels of Methyglyoxal (MGO) which gives it the unique properties that make it so special.
Harvested during a very short period of 2-6weeks from Mānuka trees located in some of the most remote regions of New Zealand, authentic New Zealand Mānuka Honey is some of the rarest in the world.
Mānuka honey, compared to other types of honey, is dark in colour, has a unique taste and texture but more importantly contains the highest amount of polyphenols and flavonoid compounds. These are packed with antioxidants and are responsible for some amazing health properties.
Many of you, our customers, have shared the different ways you use it and the benefits you see from its use. Go on, try it for yourself and see what this special Honey can do for you.
MGO = Methylglyoxal. This is the main antibacterial compound in Mānuka honey. Naturally occurring, it's a key property when it comes to health benefits of the honey. The higher the MGO, the higher the potency of the honey.
UMF = Unique Mānuka Factor. This is a rigorous test developed by the UMF honey Association that further certifies the authenticity of Mānuka honey. It takes into account not only MGO but also two other compounds unique to Mānuka honey. These are Leptosperin and DHA (or dihydroxyacetone). The UMF number is based on the amount of MGO. Mānuka honey does not need to be UMF certified to be authentic, simply check the MGO number on your honey to see it's potency.
Everyday we do more to ensure our Mānuka is just as nature intended. At every step of the process from hive to you, we ensure the potency, quality, purity, and pollen count of Manukora Honey are all exactly as they were the day they left our hives. You can check this purity through our unique traceability system.
We think nature is pretty awesome. That's why we're on a mission to create Mānuka-powered health products that promote the longevity of our world.
