Authentic New Zealand Manuka Honey is widely known to have a range of health benefits and properties.
Compared to other types of honey, it contains the highest amount of flavonoids and has a unique compound called Methylglyoxal (MGO).
MGO has antimicrobial properties and is a key marker when it comes to using this honey for maintaining wellness. Raw Manuka honey is great for immune support and is a perfect natural energy boost.

600+ MGO (Methylglyoxal). This is the main antibacterial compound in Manuka honey. Naturally occurring, it's a key property when it comes to health benefits of the honey. The higher the MGO, the higher the potency of the honey.
16+ UMF (Unique Manuka Factor). This is a rigorous test developed by the UMF Honey Association that further certifies the authenticity of Manuka honey. It takes into account not only MGO but also two other compounds unique to Manuka honey. These are Leptosperin and DHA (or dihydroxyacetone). The UMF number is based on the amount of MGO.

Everyday we do more to ensure our Manuka is just as nature intended.
All our Manuka honey is non-GMO project verified. This is an independent certification that confirms our Manuka honey is free from genetically-modified organisms (GMOs).
To ensure our Manuka honey remains GMO-free, we work with our beekeepers to place our hives at least 4 miles from any land planted with genetically modified crops. This keeps any GMO pollen out of the beehives and thus out of the Manuka honey harvested from it.
We are one of only three New Zealand Manuka honey brands in the world to have our honey independently verified as glyphosate residue-free.
Glyphosate is a poison found in many common weed killers, sprays and pesticides and easily spread by the wind when used by landowners. To ensure our Manuka honey is free from glyphosate, we work closely with our beekeepers to ensure they don't use chemical sprays on their land and that their hives are placed in remote locations, far from any possible contamination.
Every jar of our Manuka honey is free from antibiotics. We work without beekeepers to ensure they're only using natural and/or organic feed for their bees during the winter months. This ensures no antibiotics or fillers are introduced into the bees diets.
Why do bees need feed? During the winter months when it is colder and the bees natural food source, flowers, aren't in bloom, they feed on the stores of honey they produced in Summer. Beekeepers supplement this honey with feed which is often a synthetic or chemical feed. We prefer it natural, so can be sure our Manuka honey is antibiotic-free.
This is just one of 15 different tests we undertake to ensure our Manuka honey is as pure and potent as nature intended.
All Manukora Manuka honey is raw and unpasteurized. This is one of the key reasons Manuka honey is thick in texture, variable in its color, and has a range of amazing beneficial properties. We keep the good stuff in!
The clearer and runnier a honey is, the more filtering it has gone through. We take care to limit the amount of filtering our Manuka honey goes through to ensure we retain the natural beneficial properties it has.
We also don't pasteurize our Manuka honey. This ensures it retains all the naturally occurring active properties. This is what we mean when we say our Manuka honey is 'raw' - it hasn't been hugely altered from the state it was collected at the hive.
We source our Manuka honey from beekeepers who have hives located in the best Manuka-producing region, and area they refer to as the 'Golden Triangle' of New Zealand.
This area is a temperate area located in the northern half of New Zealand's North Island and spans from Taranaki on the West Coast, across to the wild East Cape and to the top of the North Island in Northland.
